Used him in the first case in 2012. He did ok but hired him again on the second case. In 2014, i was told to show up to court to plea the night before, and he assured me I wasn’t going to jail . Went to court. Judge remanded me sheriff’s office at end of hearing all Mr powers could say well you was gonna do time you want it on front end or back end. Then sentencing came either do a year in jail or a 12 Mos program. When I went to choose the sentencing order got messed up and was written to where I had to do both and when Mr powers was notified about it literally did nothing I spent a whole extra year in jail because of his inaction. Wrote. Him.and tried calling multiple times. Save your money folks
He waited until THE DAY of my case to look into my case. Found guilty on all 3 charges. didn’t listen to any of the information I provided, did the absolute bare minimum, but overcharged me. I got completely screwed even though my case was insanely simple, because Mr.powers was insufficient. Do yourself a favor and get a lawyer that’s more competent and attentive. I got absolutely screwed when for probably the first time in my life I was genuinely innocent. If you’re Goanna pay thousands of dollars for a lawyer, take my advice and put it in the hands of one that will actually help you.
