Took my case (a simple lawyer letter) and worked for more than 4 months with no results.. Then terminated the service and took most of my deposit without any explanations. Very disappointed.
No. I prepared hundreds of docs, organized, labeled, properly formatted, after heavily researching laws related to my situation; all in preparation of resolving an employment matter on my own. Once I failed to negotiate with the other party myself, Heit Law Group was contacted for representation. After indicating they’d read all info provided, agreeing to rep me, they misrepresented my role & the nature of the case ENTIRELY in their very first demand letter. That mistake led to the other party responding with false accusations that could easily be put to rest/diffused; instead Heit Law Group reported they didnt know enough about “entertainment law in california” to respond adequately and tried to abandon the case at that point. After pressing back and providing facts (that they already had in their files), they agreed to make corrections to their initial demand letter and work toward resolution one more time. After the other party requested phone calls to negotiate-the first step of what we wanted to happen-Heit Law Group ignored and delayed, finally responding several weeks after saying the other party had not replied and they were now abandoning the matter//could no longer represent me. On top of it all, they now advertise that they are “knowledgeable in entertainment law” after telling me the exact opposite the first time they tried bailing out after it was in fact THEIR MISREPRESENTATION that triggered the entire distracting accusations which were not part of the case initially and were easily “debunked” for lack of a better term. Waste of time and damaging to me who is under a statute of limitations for some of my claims and now back at square one. I think the most insulting part about it all is the complete underestimation of my intelligence on their part. Additionally they failed to copy me on correspondence sent on my behalf until AFTER the fact, so really the entire mistake they made in the beginning could have been avoided with a simple “draft for approval” review step. Felt very dishonest and I plan to file a complaint with the CA Bar Assoc. Everything they did in their attempts to represent me I had already done before obtaining their help when they could have simply picked up where I left off and READ the docs provided like they said they had. Months later, two demand letters, and more salt on the wounds of this case. Just NO.
BEWARE! This law firm overcharges, does not show up for hearings, and is currently being investigated by State Bar for conversion (theft) of client trust funds. Caused the dismissal of my case.
