I was referred to this firm by the Mokaram Law Firm and I absolutely regret the day I agreed to work with either. Communication has been absolutely horrible. And even when you hunt them down and get someone on the line they still only answer or respond to what they want to. I have been assigned 3 different attorneys and Never received any notice of anything changing. Only reason I found out was because I attempted to reach them to follow up. They seem like scam artists who have teamed up together. The attorneys are liars who say they will get you requested information or call back at a certain time and never follow through. This has been the absolute longest experience and still being strung along and dragged out. I would not recommend anyone use them. It has been over 2 years and still nothing has been completely resolved. I am so ready for it all to be over.
I was referred to Higdon by my personal injury law firm, Mokaram, and ever since, I have barely any communication regarding my case. Chris Bertini was assigned to my case, and my first interaction with him was unpleasant to say the least. He was condescending, dismissive, and essentially told me to not bother him and that he would “update” me once a month. I was in a car accident which resulted in two herniated discs and two annular tears in my cervical spine. When he sent me my first “update,” he informed me that the company and the driver of the vehicle were in the process of being served. It was my understanding that we would be suing the insurance–no explanation as to why, if the company wasn’t insured, etc. I emailed him for more information and he essentially told me not to bother him until the end of the month. I resorted to looking up the case docket myself, and the initial filing was full of grammatical and CRITICAL errors; for instance, the amount they were suing for was both written out and in numerical form; two dramatically different amounts. Furthermore, I was informed by Mokaram that they would only handle the personal injury damages and not personal property; yet the lawsuit included personal property. My concern is that the personal property amount won’t leave me whole after after their 40+% fee, and then the medical fees of 30-35%. I am in pain and was recommended to get a nerve block and ablation; I CANNOT pay for it out of pocket and am relying on the lawsuit to cover it. This is completely unacceptable and unprofessional. However, I am stuck with them because of the contract I signed. The least I can do is warn others.
Assisted in finally settling my case and for a lot more when Adler dropped the ball. There were a couple of times where I felt the service lacked but no way compared to prior attorney. However, a partner called and corrected the situation. I don’t seek absolute perfection but I have to be valued as a client.
