The coldest of cold!!!! My father picked Laurie because they go to same temple. All I did was get the ‘run around’. I even came to the office early on to get a clearer explanation of things to come. Now that I’m living this circumstance I increasingly wonder why it wasn’t explained to me. It’s like this firm is tired or too good to repeat explanations to people who have no idea of what’s to come. “ I’m not your lawyer.” Was last communication I had with her.
I just finished my will and special needs trust with Laurie. I was completely overwhelmed. Laurie and her partner, Brian walked me through every aspect. They took the time to explain everything in a clear way that did not get lost is legalese. Most importantly, there was a mix up with a previous lawyer regarding my daughter’s co-guardianship. Laurie cleaned everything up. This took a huge stress off my shoulders. Those of us that have a family member with intellectual and developmental disabilities have so much to deal with every day. Our loved one’s health and wellbeing always must come first which means sometimes the details of trusts and guardianship get pushed back. Working with Laurie made getting all of this in order so someday when my daughter takes over it will be seamless. I recommend Laurie without hesitation.
When my mom could no longer stay at home alone and needed long term care we were unsure what to do. We had so many questions and were getting so much different information it was difficult to sort through it all and know what was the right thing to do. Yale was able to explain it all and help us make the right choices for our mom and our family. Yale and his staff guided our family through the entire process from start to finish, suggesting and explaining the pros and cons of the different options presented to us, pointing out potential pitfalls we were not aware of, helping us work through the various financial questions concerning what my mom could and could not afford and ultimately guiding us through the Medicaid application process. Yale acted as an intermediary with the facility we ultimately chose for our mom as well as with the Medicaid office. I really don’t know that we could have done it without his guidance.
