All the cliches that we hear about divorce certainly applied to me. When I entered the office of Bailey & Terranova I was still reeling from my husband’s request for a divorce. After 48 years of marriage, 4 children, and 2 grandchildren I never expected this – especially without the benefit of marriage counseling since my husband is a marriage counselor! Ashley greeted me with warmth and support, and I immediately felt that I had walked through the right doors! My first impression proved to be true. Amy Bailey not only has extensive legal expertise, she also has a strong work ethic and a compassionate nature. Even though my children are adults, Amy worked with me to make sure that the impact on them could be less traumatic. After the meeting with the judge, Amy and I shook hands and I thought we had completed our legal tasks. However, I continued to need her legal services after the lawyer of my former spouse threatened to take me to court for not transferring half the tax refund from our joint return to my ex-husband. Amy responded calmly and matter-of-factly to each of those emails notifying them that I had not received the refunds yet. Her communications helped keep the situation from escalating while firmly making her point. When eventually we learned that the tax refund had been deposited weeks before into my ex-husband’s business bank account, Amy composed a polite and succinct email requesting that he transfer half the tax refund to me! Amy and her legal assistant, Karyn, respond promptly and with thorough messages. If you are looking for someone who will walk the extra mile with you then I strongly recommend Amy Bailey.
