Seems to be a scam coordinated with the court and state to rip off Michigan citizens who already suffer from perpetually bad roads, congestion, high insurance rates, and bad weather back ups, things not amenable to people who drive for a living, but yeah, it is always the driver’s fault because the cop needs to get his quota. Don’t ever expect that you are considered innocent and the lawyer will even tell you he can’t guarantee anything. The only guarantee is they will take your money. They work from the notion that you are guilty and the prosecutors prolong the case to get concrete data which actually shows you are innocent, but they will collect even more money from you and you are guilty of something anyway. It might ‘minimize’ the damage on your license, but they will make you pay big time. It’s kinda like a bribe.
