I am a Realtor with eXp Realty. I verbally agreed to list my elderly client’s house when he told me he would like his attorney to review the paperwork. My client returned my agreement, stating that Attorney Pizzuti thought the term of one year was too long and that he had never seen a contract that long. I have been selling real estate for ten years and have always written my contracts this way, and no one has ever complained. Many luxury listings take several years to sell, so one year is a relatively standard time. I even shortened the length of the agreement after my client told me about his comments, and he still referred the sale to another agent. I wonder if said agent pays him a referral fee for the business. My online reviews are all five stars, and he had no reason to take business away from a hard-working single woman. He had no regard for the work I had already done, the fact that I already had a signed buyer agency agreement with this client, and that the client had already explicitly stated he wanted to work with me for both the selling of his property and the buying of another. My client told me afterward that the agent Attorney Pizzuti referred him to told him he “had to sign their listing agreement.” This man feels he has no ethical obligation to honor the working relationships of other professionals. I would never recommend this man to anyone! I have coincidentally had to ask this same office to correct basic math errors on prior closing paperwork for other clients.
