*BEWARE* Staff is nice ‘until’ you sign an agreement with them! They WILL NOT let you out of your contract despite it saying in the contract that you can be let out by asking to be let out of it …so just know once you sign, your stuck! We handled everything ourselves due to them wanting to charge us an extra $10k that was unnecessary and thankfully we went directly to the judge who agreed with us on the matter! We finally got our money that The Recovery Agents were preventing us from obtaining. They ended up making over $9k from us and did nothing but give us a hard time mixed in with a sleu of misleading information. Not to mention how extremely rude and unprofessional most everyone is that we dealt with, we would give no stars if able to. Do the work yourself, most clerk of court offices will help and direct you with what forms need to be filled out and what the process is to obtain money due to you.
Not a good experience. The ultimate amount recovered was approximately $1K less than expected. Recovery took a very long time with almost no communication whatsoever; as such, there was no attempt to control expectations. I asked to have my privacy respected yet they forwarded my emails to others on the case. Questions were answered kurtly. With regret I say, I wish I’d signed with someone else.
The Recovery Agents were mostly easy to work with and recovered funds in a timely manner. That being said the check I received for the recovered amount was approx. $1k less than expected. This amount was not shown on any of the signed paperwork and was excluded from all figures they provided. After following up on this I was told it was a legal fee related to an Affidavit. I was not given a straight answer as to why this was not part of their 12% cut given their contract outlines they cover legal/attorney fees from their share. I also was refused any receipts or documentation on this fee. This fee was applied to all parties involved in the recovery so there was approx. $4k that was deducted with little to no explanation as to why we were on the hook for that amount.
