I was appointed this “lawyer” as a public defender for family court, he acted as my childs father’s second lawyer. He did not defend me in anyway whatsoever. The ex and I have been in and out of family court 3 different times within the past 3 years. This is my 3rd lawyer and I can confidently say he was the worst out of all of them. Because we couldn’t reach an agreement we went to trial, my ex gets up on that stand and his ENTIRE TESTIMONY was a lie! Nothing that came out of his mouth was the truth, I repeatedly leaned up and whispered to Mr. Burd on several occasions that he was lying and this man did and said absolutely nothing. He doesn’t even deserve one star. If you are appointed this man for any type of court I highly recommend you request another.
I wouldn’t even give him 1 star but had to to even write a review. Mr. Burd is a nice older gentleman, but as an attorney, he is lacking. He was assigned to me as a public defender on a custody case involving my twins. He rarely answered his phone and when he did, he offered little to no advice. I had to push him to even do a trial prep with me. He did not do a trial prep for ANY of my witnesses and did not object when my abusive ex husband was called as a virtual witness like he said he was going to do. My abusive ex husband’s testimony was a complete lie and should have never been considered in the first place because he was smoking something ON CAMERA THE ENTIRE TIME! Custody has been given to my ex based on that testimony. I am 110% appealing this decision
I wouldn’t even give this lawyer a 1 star review. I hired him to set up a nonprofit rescue paid his fee up front and he sat and did nothing and I mean nothing for almost 4 months, never ever returned my phone calls, never responded to my emails after finally finding the correct email and the one he supplies you with is not found, he absolutely lies to your face. This is a lawyer that can not be trusted and absolutely does not have your best interest, he simply does not care and in no way should this man be practicing as a lawyer…………Steer clear of this so called Lawyer!!!!!!!!!
