My father wanted help with his estate planning in his late 80’s, uncertain if his estate would go to probate after his death. After speaking with the Florida Bar and speaking with friends who needed legal assistance regarding Estate Planning, Probate and Trusts, Attorney Kathy DeMaria was recommended to him repeatedly. Her services are in high demand, and it is good that my father’s request was not time sensitive. I accompanied him to her office, and found Kathy DeMaria to be extremely competent and knowledgeable about the complexities of wills, trusts, survivorship, and probate (which we wanted to avoid). My father was pleased that she represented his final wishes – ethically excluding me from meetings that would determine allocation of his assets. I was so impressed with her compassion and expertise, with it clear that she genuinely cares about her clients. Kathy has my highest level of respect – so much so, that my wife and I decided to use her services to develop our own estate plan to assure that our assets were distributed according to our wishes – with it suprisingly easy and very inexpensive, as compared with the complexities of probate.
