Carl pretty much saved my relationship w/ my son. When I got divorced, my son was only 1, and the courts in this state (at the time?) seemed very opposed to 50/50 parenting for very young children. I didn’t end up getting 50/50, but I could have ended up with *nothing*, so count your blessings as a guy, I suppose. My ex was very litigious, to put it very mildly. I looked into several high-power lawyers when I started, each of them promising me to “destroy” the opposing party. Carl, on the other hand, undersold his might, and promised to keep things fair, even handed, balanced, and level-headed. This helped us in court, because the opposing council came across as rabidly angry, which seemed to hurt their position. Along the way, most importantly, Carl assured me, as might a father-figure, to stay calm, stay collected, and things would eventually work themselves out. That did, astonishingly, happen. Carl was right. I have a sneaky suspicion he usually is.
