I was having difficulty with the US armed services getting my son inducted. He is an internatonal adoptee and has a passport with and IR-3 stamp on it. This means that he is an adoptive child of American citizen parents and that as soon as he flew over the border he immediately became an American citizen. They were making a case that we needed to provide his naturalization certificate, of which he did not become a citizen through the naturalization process which includes testing and swearing in. With the help and advice of USA Immigration Solutions, I argue this point to higher and higher levels of decision making within the services.
