I consulted with Tom Gorman years ago regarding a bankruptcy filing that he did for me in 2000. At the time, I was assured that I did not have certain financial assets, and based on that information, I proceeded with the filing. Years later, this became a major issue when it was alleged that I had committed fraud (2007) due to assets that were supposedly not disclosed—despite the fact that I had asked for clarification on this very issue before filing. When I reached out to Mr. Gorman for help in understanding the situation, He informed me that he would not meet with me unless I provided a $5,000 retainer. Given the seriousness of the matter and the fact that my questions stemmed from the original legal advice I had received, I was disappointed by this response. I would think he would have been just as concerned as I was . Fraud is a serious accusation!
