I reached out to Meub associates to help me with a closing on a house. My previous lawyer had unexpectedly passed away in the middle of my closing. Meub said they’d be happy to help. They were able to pick up where my lawyer left off and get me closed. I’ve closed on 3 other occasions in the past and never have paid over $1500 in legal fees, always around $1000 on average. There was a little more involved in this closing so I expected maybe $1500-$2000 in legal fees. Meub charged me over $4100, I was shocked. After looking over the bill, they would charge me for 30 minute phone calls when my calls would rarely go over 5 minutes. Who knows what else they up charged me for. It was such a stressful time trying to find a new lawyer after mine had passed, I can’t believe Meaub would try to take advantage and capitalize on a fellow colleague’s death.
