MAKE AN APPOINTMENT online, before you go. I did, and from security, up to the SSA office and back to my car was 17 minutes total to change my name.
Absolutely the worst experience on this planet…… I get in there and there is no person or signs who is there to tell me where to go or what to do and thankfully a nice lady who was also waiting who showed me where to get my ticket, at the machine….. It’s hidden behind the wall next to the door, you wouldn’t have ever guessed it was there unless you knew what they looked like. I get my ticket and sit down, there’s people yelling and saying they’ve been waiting too long and how they need to leave and making huge scenes and making the environment feel hostile and causing anxiety in the room. I go up to the security guard and I say “I have anxiety induced epilepsy and it’s getting a little hectic in here, this is where my emergency medication is if I have one” he then asks how often I have them and was like interrogating me about it when I was just told by my doctor if I’m by myself to tell someone in security if I think I could have a seizure…… It’s none of his buisness besides “I might have a seizure, here’s where the medication is, here’s where you’ll find emergency info”
DO NOT BRING KIDS HERE. The staff is beyond rude and will make you leave if you have kids. The security guard will single out parents and degrade them
