Burns Legal Services in Dover, New Hampshire, specializes in bankruptcy law but has received overwhelmingly negative feedback from clients. Many reviews express frustration over poor communication, lack of progress on cases, and high billing for minimal service, leading to a strong recommendation against hiring this attorney. Despite a few positive mentions of effective handling in difficult situations, the overall sentiment highlights significant dissatisfaction with the firm’s reliability and competence.
DO NOT HIRE OR GIVE BURNS ANY MONEY.This man is either a crook, or completely incompetent. I hired him for a civil matter and I have a bill spanning nearly 2 years. Almost 24 months and all he did was spin his tires and make excuses. He said he was working on my case but was not competent enough to get my case in front of a judge or serve any of the defendants. He either lied about doing this, or is so incompetent that he could not move my case through the court process in 2 whole years. The Bill I was sent is outrageous, including a $50 charge for “exchanging multiple text messages with the client”. His voicemail is always full, he says he will return your call, text you back or do this action on your case and he never does it, or puts you off for weeks and months. Then charges you for every single text or phone call asking him about where you case is in the process, just to give you another excuse about why nothing has happened with your case.
Chris was fabulous and handles difficult situations with esse.
Hired Chris to help handle my father’s estate after he passed unexpectedly without a will. Communication was frustrating at best, e-mail address that couldn’t receive mail, voice mail box that was full and couldn’t except new messages, and an attorney that rarely responds and if he does it is with a disingenuous “I’ll call you back, I’m in court.” My father didn’t leave much behind but I was assured by Chris he would take care of everything that had no beneficiary assigned to it, but now almost a year later there has been absolutely nothing filed with the court and what little was left behind is now gone, and I cannot even get a phone call or e-mail response out of him.
