Joel J. Schwartz – Attorney

I retained the services of Joel Schwartz for a bogus trespassing charge for videotaping at Hanley Rd. Metrolink because he had a reputation of being one of the best defense attorneys in the metro area. I personally met with him, gave him my money ($750) and he left me with the impression he would he handling my case. He never bothered to tell me otherwise. Without notice, he gave my case to another one of his junior associates by the name of Cameron Valdez. I felt like he had baited, then switched me. When I finally learned Mr Valdez was representing me I spoke with him once, then tried to contact him on dozens of occasions to discuss my case and he would never return my phone calls. This went on for 3 1/2 years. After dozens of attempts he only returned my phone calls to tell me the prosecuting attorney would not drop the case and if I wanted to go to trial it would cost another $750. I paid the $750 to go to trial. Shorty thereafter he called to tell me the charges were dismissed. I am still trying to recover the $750 I paid for the trial that never happened, but he is, of course, not returning my phone calls.
