Scott M. Brown & Associates recently handled my divorce. What I thought was going to be a long and complicated process, was not. Blaire did an exceptional job handling the case. From the consultation to signing the decree Blaire was very thorough in explaining the process and next steps. The best part about working with Blaire is she made the time to answer all my questions in a timely manner and provided updates without me having to follow up. I know Blaire was busy with other cases but never felt that my case was being neglected. As a client of Scott M Brown & Associates I felt well taken care of, that my case was extremally important and acting with a since of urgency to get the divorce finalized was their top priority. Although there were some unforeseen circumstances during the divorce proceedings Blaire handled everything for me and kept the case on track. Big Thank You to Blaire for all the hard work and time spent finalizing the case.
Do not hire this firm. They confidently took my retainer for an uncontested divorce, charged me for knowing about my court date, never relayed the information and allowed my case to get dismissed for failure to appear because they didn’t even show up. At this point they hadn’t even attempted to obtain a signature from my ex by that point and acted like they had but he wasn’t signing. They proceeded to pretend to work off the dismissed case for a year presenting documents for the dismissed case number and continued blaming my ex for their inability to complete. It eventually came to light when they charged more money, and then asked for even more money, that they had failed to appear in court or notify me of the date either and they struggled to be transparent about why they had to refile a new divorce. Paula, senior partner at the firm, became rude in the process of trying to get them to correct their mistakes when I advised that refunding herself for messing up was not acceptable. This resulted in the request for them to withdrawal. Amanda, paralegal, sent over documents to withdrawal but listed the case number that they allowed to be dismissed. The contract binds you to arbitration. So, I reached out and spoke to Peggy, senior lawyer, who complained about the circumstances of my case when they accepted my business and proceeded to state they provided free services, that were listed in the client ledger as charging me, and then admitted she didn’t even review the complaint properly. She eventually agreed to refund me but instead of accepting the dispute with my financial institution, they issued a check to avoid accountability. If they can’t manage not to screw up an uncontested divorce, do you have faith they can handle anything more serious with care?
Kaylan Pugh answered all my questions in layman terms. That meant a lot to me. Very informative and smart
