Mr. Cavanaugh is an incredibly nice & thoughtful attorney that helped me get my estate planning in order. What I particularly liked is that he, in a way that I could easily understand, talked me through each of the documents, explained the purpose of each, answered all of my questions and detailed the considerations I should think about as I make my decisions on various aspects. That was a huge help as it enabled me to make informed decisions about these very important matters. He’s the best attorney that I’ve worked with over the years, and I highly recommend him!
I selected Stephen Cavanaugh because of the positive Google reviews and I was very happy with our initial discussion. He seemed very helpful. But, on my second call with him, I asked a few questions about whether it was feasible to draft our wills with a few placeholders (name of executor and gift dollar amounts). He said NO, that he could not draft a will with some placeholders. I said OK, that’s fine…. I can live with that, but I asked a few questions about WHY no placeholders since I would have to review the legal text anyway before I sign it. But he said NO, that’s not how it is done (but no specifics on why). I said OK, we can do it his official way and that I was just asking questions in order to understand the process. Then he essentially hung up the phone on me (to get to a meeting) while telling me to go find another lawyer, even though I repeatedly said that I am OK doing it his way and I am just asking questions. I think he took my questions as an insult to his profession. A lawyer that is so sensitive to basic process questions from clients is not very helpful.
The very best lawyer ever! I lost my son tragically and he was so kind and took care of his Probate immediately and made this horrible journey much easier for me with compassion and respect! I highly recommend him!
