I would not recommend Thelma Clardy my husband and I meet with her February 26, 2025 and paid her $400 in retainer for a Will. I called numerous times to see if the Will was ready and nothing she kept sayings she would get it done and didn’t. Now going on on 3 months I had enough. I called Thelma Friday, 05/09/25 and she didn’t know who we were and asked me for my name and phone #. She apologized and said we need to come back into her office. She didn’t even remember what we requested in the Will. I told her I didn’t want to do business with her because the service was terrible and requested my money back. She said the $400 was for her time when we came to her office and we were there only 30 minutes. I honestly think she prey on people and take the retainer fee and then cut you off. This is how she makes a living ripping people off. I told her if she can justify and feel like she gave us good service to keep the money. This woman is a con artist and should not be a lawyer!
I was hoping that she would help my family get justice, when in actuality she is unprofessional. She was paid, but failed to execute any services and was very poor at communicating… especially seeing that her actions didn’t match her words and my family didn’t seem to feel heard. I do not recommend her, and it’s honestly disheartening to see an elder “professional” black woman in my community display such behavior. I will contacting the Bar Association pertaining to this.
DO NOT RECOMMEND!!!!! She keeps asking for money and makes excuses for why the work isn’t done. Contact me for more information…
