Two years ago, and at the age of 63 I was faced with litigation that put at risk everything I owned after a 43 year career. I had never had much need for an attorney, so I had no relationship with one or any experience in finding one. My insurance company hired Burt Barr & Associates, L.L.P. to represent me. I was of course apprehensive at first but after a few conversations with John Barr and his daughter MC Barr I was quickly put at ease. They were easy to talk to and seemed to care for me as a person, and even though they were hired by my insurance company they made it clear that they would protect my interest. After a few meetings with John Barr and MC Barr it was decided that MC would take over my case. MC seemed very capable, and, in the end, she proved to be. The short version of the story is that after many interactions between MC and the plaintiff’s attorney and my insurance company attorney, we went to mediation. MC handled my side of the mediation beautifully, being laid back and detailed when needed but being bold and assertive when that was needed. I am very happy with the outcome and blessed that I had MC Barr on my side.
