I called the firm seeking my father’s will after he had passed and was informed his lawyer had died and told to find myself another lawyer in Carter county. I just requested the will and I live in Johnson City. The partner then informed that he wasn’t going to say anything to me because he now represented my sister he said “the one in the cop uniform”. He was so rude and hasty to get me off the phone. I’m left with dead air and no answer about what happened to the matters that my dad had with the lawyer. What is the harm in asking to see the will?? ISNT THAT THE WHOLE REASON HIS JOB EXISTS? So now what? I have to hire a lawyer ?? To see my dear father’s final wishes and thoughts nicely written and a stamp I magine it would have with maybe a few signatures I’m guessing but it’s the eloquent thoughts of my father and the beautiful way his mind worked that I wanted to have a copy of….whatever they may be!!…He was my dad this client of yours and he trusted you with his words and that means something to me… I am one of 3 reasons why he hired your firm in the first place!. But folks to this firm it meant entirely something I can’t even relate too. I would not trust these lawyers if they treat the immediate family like they did me. I can’t wrap my mind around the need to behave so unprofessionally and tell me to go somewhere else?!? Why would I go yo another lawyer in Carter County to get my fathers WILL when he paid YOU TO DO IT?? WOW OKAY and I did btw in Johnson City. Ridiculous.
I was referred to Caleb McDaniel by another local Attorney. I called that evening and the receptionist informed me that Mr McDaniel was not in but to expect a call early the next day. I never received a response and called back the next day and was told he still wasn’t there but he would call me soon. That was a few days ago and I never received a call back. He might be a great Attorney but not so good at responding to a potential client. On the other hand I would give Bill Byrd a 10 star rating from past experiences.
