Moore Hugh J, an attorney based in Chattanooga, Tennessee, has received mixed reviews from clients. While some describe him as an excellent lawyer who is smart, hardworking, and creative, there are concerns regarding his handling of arbitration cases, with claims of bias and unequal treatment of parties. Overall, it is suggested that clients may appreciate his skills in certain contexts, but caution is advised when considering him for arbitration situations.
While working a case in arbitration, this lawyer showed bias toward one party, allowing them to submit unrelated material totaling 30 pages of false claims but only allowing the responding party to offer 4 pages in defense, which would obviously not be enough space to properly defend the unfounded claims. The arbitrator also claimed he would only be considering information regarding the contract yet considered information that was not related to the contract. He also refused to share any basis for his decision and made his ruling against previous case law examples. It was an egregious error, whether by intention or not, for him to not approach this with equal consideration and time to both parties. He repeatedly allowed one party to do things without allowing the other party to respond or giving equal opportunity, which calls to question if he is someone connected to one of the parties or has a relationship with the other sides lawyers or some other undisclosed cause for bias. Or perhaps he simply did not want to be bothered with looking through all of the evidence. I would recommend not selecting this lawyer for arbitration, or even presentation of your case on the basis that he doesn’t give proper time and consideration to the work he does.
An excellent lawyer. Smart, hard working and creative.
