Before filing a case in South Carolina, he communicated with attorneys to confirm we were not represented, so he was fully aware that we were proceeding pro se. Despite this, he failed to inform us of his filings, even though court documents clearly required that we be notified. An attorney had been retained by my insurance company, but this attorney was never hired to represent my wife, as she was neither the insured nor covered by the policy. This attorney had not contacted me for over a year and failed to notify me of any filings. Additionally, my wife had her own claim against the policy, which meant the insurance company’s attorney could not represent her as she was a claimant. This should have been obvious.
Do not trust this company, especially if you are out of state. They will mislead you and file motions in court without notifying you, then work with an opposing attorney they know was never retained to represent you. This is all done to fraudulently secure their payment. As a result, we now have to refile to reopen the case because we were never notified and were falsely represented.
