Had a consult with Mr. Massalon. He ultimately gave me some great advice and ideas on how to handle a business situation, which turned out wonderfully.
Christy Allen represented me as fiduciary of an estate with regard to a real estate transaction with very complex and difficult issues. Christy was thorough and responsive and I appreciated her counsel throughout the process.
I strongly discourage anyone from using this firm. My wife and I had an initial discussion with Ms. Allen about our issue. Subject to further review, Ms. Allen believed we had a strong position to achieve what we had wanted. As a result, we retained her as counsel. Ms. Allen completed her review of the facts and advised us that her preliminary conclusion was supported by her findings. Long story short, it wasn’t until after the funding in the retainer was depleted and until after Ms. Allen was advised by the opposing Counsel that we couldn’t achieve what we wanted to because of how our property is zoned that Ms. Allen advised us that we didn’t have a case. Ms. Allen’s failure to look into or even ask us about the zoning of our house up front caused us to waste $2,500. Ms. Allen is an attorney who specializes in real estate. One would think that how a property is zoned would have been one of the first issues she investigated. Like I mentioned earlier, it was the opposing lawyer who ultimately advised her. And perhaps even worse, she told us the news with a sort of shrug of the shoulder attitude and tried to point blame to us for not looking into the zoning of our property prior to purchasing it.
