I was in a car accident in South Philly in 2021… sitting at a red light when a police cruiser ran the red light, swerved to avoid another car, and then smacked directly into me. I ended up in not-great-condition, lost my vehicle (obviously), and was left feeling horribly damaged. The worst part was that, about a month earlier, I decided to drop my auto insurance policy down to the legal minimum; a decision I made to save money since I had an older car and rarely drove it because I live in the city and work from home. It seemed like a good idea at the time (choose full tort everyone, not limited!). Well, long story short, I was in a bad situation and was trying to deal with the city, insurance companies, Medicare, etc… all just to try to get compensated for the loss of my vehicle, which wasn’t even worth very much but had tremendous value to me. I wasn’t getting anywhere by myself.
