Wade made a complete mess of my custody case. It *was* high conflict when I hired him. He pushed me to go for sole after I had asked for mediation with the other party, I went along thinking he knew what he was doing and he gave me a lecture about “loving myself”. However, through this ordeal I quickly learned that his strategy was too aggressive and begged him through multiple emails to negotiate somehow with the other party. He charged me for every email I sent, and ignored my requests (these charges I got reduced after I complained). Finally I called him personally and he got annoyed with me and made me create my own parenting plan myself. I sent it to him and he complained he couldn’t read it, blaming me for the format when the reality is he’s 85 years old. When I finally got him to agree to send something to the other party I had to tell him the email on 3 separate phone calls because he couldn’t hear me, getting charged an hourly rate for these brief minutes long calls. There were times I would call and he asked if I was a client of his and he didn’t even know who I was. His office also got mail for me from the Oregon DOJ, I also got a copy. His office also made sure to photo copy and email the letter to me and charged me top dollar for mail I didn’t ask for and already received at my residence. My petition was full of errors on dates of events in my case. In court he did not know what was going on, I did most of the talking at the hearing I attended and had to clarify things to the judge because he couldn’t remember a single thing I told him. I could tell the judge was annoyed by him by his sharpness and coldness toward him. Thankfully the case closed due to jurisdictional issues. Wade got an email from the judge saying it was closed, he sent me an email closing my case. Wade charged me $160 to read this email from the judge and email me saying he closed my file (picture shared) His billing staff said she would work with me on this to fix it but has gone ghost because she probably doesn’t like my justified anger toward their office, so I paid it and once again got screwed over financially. It my personal opinion that Wade is suffering with his vision, hearing, and cognizance in his old age. I have had a few lawyers in my life and I have NEVER seen such incompetence from a legal professional. It is also my personal opinion that Wade is still practicing law at 85 and refuses to retire because he’s too greedy, his egregious billing for him just to send a brief email that my file is closed is very telling of his character. It seems to me that he ignored my desires for peace and negotiation so he could drag out my case and milk it for all it was worth. Me and the other party have been coming to a peaceful resolution on our own. Do not hire this man, there’s something seriously wrong with him and I plan on contacting the state bar about this. He needs to retire and stop preying on single mothers.
Unprofessional Attorney, don’t go there he didn’t even try help me to resolve my ticket issue
I had an extremely disappointing experience with this attorney. This was my first ticket in the U.S., and I trusted him to handle it properly. Instead, he showed a complete lack of competence and effort. He didn’t fight for me, didn’t explore any possible alternatives, and as a result, I now have serious issues on my record that could have been avoided.
