On August 5, 2024, I paid $600 in advance retainer. This attorney didn’t go to court with me and he didn’t give me any legal advice and he didn’t send me a statement of the “services and hours” that he “spent” on my case, and he won’t return my phone calls! Without that statement of fees, I can’t even dispute the attorney fees. Now he won’t refund my money that I gave to him in good faith. Before you give an attorney money, make sure you get a statement of fees. I guess he’s too broke and thinks he needs the money more than me, which is not true, I need that $600! I’ve submitted a complaint to the Oklahoma Bar Association. I might take him to small claims, but I live far away from Duncan, OK, – what a hassle! Don’t hire him without getting something in writing upfront!
