If you are looking for an easy, no hassle experience selling a home you might want to do a little research with your choice of attorney. Our experience with this attorney’s office(buyer’s choice) has been less than stellar. long and short of it was the communication is horrible, everything was last minute and even after giving all requested information for the home we were selling they got it wrong. The house sold, contract were prepared by the attorney’s office and they “verified” all information on the property to include the remaining owed on the mortgage. We were contacted last minute to sign contracts, and payment was received. Fast forward just shy of a week, just to clarify this whole experience has been under contract since around the beginning of Sept., the office contacted us and stated that they read the payoff incorrectly when drawing up the contract and we needed to pay back roughly $2800.00. The explanation given was that they misread the payoff sheet that they requested and received from the mortgage holder, the contracts were written, signed and payments made and received. I could excuse a little per diem but almost $3000.00?!?!?! Really? If you are looking for an attorney to handle your business make sure to go with one that won’t end up costing you more cash in the end.
