I contracted with Billy Strickland for a personal injury case. Within the 3 years it has taken to be resolved Billy ethics on communication should be a negative star. I only spoke to him the day of signing the contract and 3 years later when he called me trying to manipulate me and passively threatening me to accept a ridiculously unfair settlement in my favor. Over the course of the 3 years I have been trying to get full disclosure and all my discovery in this legal matter, & each time my request was brushed off & then ignored. I asked one of the paralegals(Tricia) for an update & a copy of the docket sheet to see what motions & litigation had been submitted but, instead of getting any of that information I was sent an email from her email asking me who have I been talking to &, how do I know about that type of information. &, still never received that information from her. Approximately a year or so later I did receive a USB & a CD which neither works on my computer or the other laptops I tried from friends. It has been obvious to me that I was being denied full disclosure.. Billy Strickland became a Superior Court judge now so I know for a fact he was dishonest with me, unethical with representation of my persons in this matter, he left notes in my file for the next attorney Dustin Pittman to follow up on. One note in particular saying I authorized him to settle the case which I absolutely did not tell him no such thing or even close to it. My hand is permanently damaged & Billy or Dustin now are representing this matter in the best interest of my persons. An attorney’s first obligation is to the court not the client! It states that for a fact on the BAR website & in law book. Now Dustin is trying to pressure me to accept a disrespectful settlement without full disclosure in black & white paper & ink. I haven’t been given any documentation of Billy & Opposing party came to an agreement with both signatures on said document. These attorneys are being difficult about all the facts in their agreement & only numbers I am being given is what bills need to be paid & who need to be paid for as medical, and attorneys. Dustin has moderately increased my percentage of the settlement but still is being evasion & lying about the agreement Billy Strickland made with opposing counsel. Dustin refused to sign an Attorney questionnaire form I emailed him, a W9 form as well. I asked to see his BAR license which Dustin refused to produce. No attorney has one & only has a BAR member license. I challenge anyone to ask any attorney to produce a License to practice law. I am in the final stage of this settlement & am disappointed with their representation, disrespectful conversation, manipulation, & passive threatening tactics. These attorneys are well connected in these counties & don’t respect The Rules of Professional conduct when it comes to a client. Rule 1.2 Scope Of Representation & Allocation of Authority between Client & Attorney. Rule 1.3 Diligence. Rule 1.4 Communication. Rule 3.2 Expediting Litigation. Rule 4.1 Truthfulness in Statement to Others . Rule 4.2 Communication with Person represented by Counsel. Lawyers are money hungry & unfair about fees, settlements, & fiduciary duties.
