William Mattar’s staff handled my case very Unsatisfactorily.. Everyone was for the most part friendly, however, as severe as my injury was, and still is, a back injury that resulted in surgery, continued constant pain that continues today 4 years after I was t-boned by a young, careless, reckless driver and 3 years after a surgery that resulted in minimal relief. An injury that has permanently barred me not only from returning to the position I held with the Buffalo Public Schools from May 1, 1989 to July 23, 2021 (the date of my injury) due to my inability to perform normal daily activities several days out of the week. I am Certain that my case Was Not taken seriously and Most Definitely Was Not vigorously fought due to the fact that the young woman (early 20s) was investigated and found to have Zero Assets, and an Auto Insurance policy that contained a maximum payout of $100,000, which I was told was the Absolute maximum settlement I could expect to receive. An amount that Could Not Possibly begin to compare to, or adequately compensate me for the extreme pain and suffering I have endured, and continue to endure today, some 4 years and continuing. My case was so Blatantly Neglected and Mishandled that an effort was not even made to secure a settlement on my behalf for the entirety of the $100,000 “I was told” was the maximum settlement payout I could possibly receive. After suffering the emotional stress and anxiety of constant daily pain, my inability to perform normal daily functions and activities for a year prior to a surgery that barely offered minimal relief, I continue to suffer both physically and emotionally. And after expressing on several occasions that a settlement of $100,000 doesn’t even begin to cover having to endure the constant pain, suffering and emotional turmoil before surgery, the surgery and unsuccessful recovery, and the continued physical and emotional distress I continue to suffer today I clearly expressed on many occasions that I wanted my case heard in a court of law where my case can be thoroughly reviewed and a settlement be awarded comeserate to my injury, condition and prognosis. But that was not the case. The attorney, not William Mattar because I guess since my case had a minimal monetary settlement option, I wasn’t worth a hand shake or a meet with him, I was clearly not worth fighting for. All that was done was an asset search of the other driver and I was deposed by her insurance company attorney. So little effort was made, that they didn’t even fight on my behalf for the entire $100,000. I received $67,500 because despite my insistence that I wanted my case heard and judged in a court of law, no effort was made on my behalf.
