In 2014 I was diagnosed with Lewy Body Dementia and by 2015 I was forced to retire from my position with the State of Montana. In 2016, I applied for SSDI, which was denied and it took 2 1/2 years to win an appeal, along with an apology from the judge for it even going to appeal. In 2018 I was given retroactive SSDI for 2016-2018, which in turn was required used to reimburse my private disability insurance that I was living on during that time. Unfortunately, as a result I had to refile those 3 years replacing taxable SSDI for the nontaxable insurance, resulting in owing back taxes over those 3 years. I secured the Morrison Law Firm to help me and they negotiated a settlement with the IRS and Montana Dept. of Revenue. The firm helping me to financially fight my neurological diseases with costly medical care without a tax debt hanging over my head. Tom Morrison and his staff were remarkably compassionate and committed to my case.
