I meant to post this 7 years ago, better late than never. I hired this man with a specific quote of a flat fee after explaining my situation. I was told I wouldn’t be nickled and dimed, I avoided petty emails and calls and anything that would make it cost more. I had one meeting with my ex husband, not an official mediation, just had us come and clarify a couple things. It took about an hour maybe less, then he increased my bill over 2k more because of it. I was the only one of us who hired a lawyer. I had consulted with one other but felt pretty good about my choice at the time. He strongly suggested 50/50 custody of my 2 kids which caused me to bear much more financial responsibility because I made more money than the ex. People often say I was really screwed when we compare divorce outcomes. I didn’t know any different, trusted this guy. When I asked about the bill increase, he got an attitude out of nowhere really catching me off guard, and it wasn’t how I asked, I was not rude. I eventually said I would be sure to pay my bill along with leaving a negative review online. Not long after that, I got a letter from the court, he fired me as a client! Any further needs, have to find someone else and it probably doesn’t look good on me. All because he lied about what my cost would be then got very defensive when I confronted him about the significantly higher bill at the end. I was able to get divorced within 4 months of filing, hence the one star because it was relatively fast. My ex didn’t even have a lawyer to argue with. I essentially have the kids full time now, still am the one who carries insurance on them and unfortunately still paying the ex child support. The money it takes to hire another family attorney and have things modified is more than my divorce cost and all the remaining child support combined, so I will not likely hire a lawyer for legal modification. He also didn’t mention in the divorce documents me changing my last name back, which caused issues at the social security office and dmv, fortunately I didn’t end up having to go back for that to be modified and it worked out, but that should have been in the documents. In hindsight, I should’ve went with the first woman attorney I consulted with who wanted more money up front, but would’ve been less in the end. So, here’s my bad review I promised!
Best family attorney around
Referred to this place from a mediator they work with, we even meet in this office a few times with our mediator, they were suppose to just help file, they knew we were referred and from who, they had zero paperwork ready, zero communication from the mediator for our first meeting and literally told we need to do some of the same work twice that. Angela was very unprofessional.
