Southern MN Regional Legal Services, located in St. Paul, Minnesota, offers legal services with a focus on immigration law. While some reviewers express frustration over income qualification processes and customer service, others highlight positive experiences, particularly praising the assistance received from specific staff members like Loura Melnick, who helped clients successfully navigate their legal challenges. Overall, while there are mixed reviews, the organization has provided valuable support to some individuals in need of legal assistance.
They do not tell you what the income limit is. I do not recommend this place whatsoever, they’re completely unhelpful. Their income limits have not been updated since covid (nor during the recent tariff times) and will ask for everyone’s income limits who lives in the household (frankly too invasive) even if theyre not on the case or have their own business to take care of. Feels more like an excuse to not help. If you take issue with their policy or want to correct whats on file they do not care, they offer this pathetic grievance line, 651-346-61900 if you feel youre receiving poor customer service. Its kinda weird how open this is. They offer “resources” if youre over their limit, like the MN lawyer referral service….the same people who referred me to SMRL in the first place. Great now I’m getting the runaround.
I was trying to let this go, but I can’t. I asked for legal consolation due to something not seeming right with a PROJECT BASED PROPERTY trying to get more money from me that I don’t have thus why I live in subsidy. The attorney that was consulting me not only sound like he just woke up, but said he did not know and he “THINKS” the property was in the right. Lucky for me before I signed the contracted papers.. I let the property know, I was seeking further consolation, and to my surprise the property corrected themselves and told me specifically they could not do what they wanted me to sign because it was illegal and The property corrected themselves on their behalf. No Thanks to your attorney, I was going to sign something that was not in my favor and illegal.
Very Rude Didn’t Care
