Worst public defender. Never answers or returns phone calls. Never informs of changing court dates or rescheduling the date because he was unable to attend…
Good defense attorney if you need one… Help me deal with the situation that frankly, I never should’ve even been drug into court on… But, because Minnesota law is so backward, it happened. My only complaint is, it looks like he was completely misinformed on how electronic home monitoring now works. He had stated they don’t use the ankle monitors anymore, that it is just a phone app… Nope… They gave me an ankle monitor. Nothing for the phone. And it did last the entire three days, not part of day one, all of day two, and part of day three like he had initially told me. Otherwise, great lawyer. If I needed Defense help again, I would trust him.
I remember never ever ever ever EVER getting a call back or even talking to my public defender (Shawn) until the day of court. Had I known any better at the time I would’ve requested different and better counsel and I should’ve been complaining that I didn’t feel like my public defender was taking the job seriously. Looking back on it now I almost wonder if I can file an appeal for Miss representation of counsel.
