This was a difficult, long and drawn out custody case lasting over 4 years with several litigations by contentious Respondent. After a 10year gap of no interaction or relations with child, other parent wanted to go back to old custody order of 1/2 legal/physical custody and joint decision making. I had obtained a temporary full legal physical order during that time due to op arrest. This never got amended and now years later child has no recollection of op (who is virtual stranger) who wants to uproot and disrupt their life with drastic changes. We contested the motion and countered, Matt was able to get me permanent legal & physical custody along with child support & back pay. Moving forth op did have opportunity for gradual parenting time with reunification therapy. Therapist resigned due to op behavior and we went back to court. My child no longer has to go through the process of reunification and no longer required parenting time against their wishes and op has to pay my attorney fees due to unnecessary litigation.
