Estate and Elder Planning by David Wingate, located in Frederick, Maryland, specializes in Estate Planning and Elder Law. Reviewers consistently praise David Wingate for his compassion, expertise, and thoroughness, highlighting his ability to make clients feel valued and respected throughout the estate planning process. Many clients express gratitude for his patient approach and the peace of mind he provides, making the often daunting task of planning for the future much easier.
Too expensive and impersonal especially for the price. I made the unfortunate choice of contacting Estate and Elder Planning by David Wingate for a simple will which included medical directive. Everything was discussed by phone only, and I was never shown a draft of the will and medical directives to ensure that I, as the client got to see what my final will would look like. The price I was given was $1950. I went to the Law Office of Morrison and McGrew and for that exact same will and medical directive, the price was $385. Morrison and McGrew actually had an in person appointment to discuss my will, and go over other things. They also advised me that I could print and fill out the medical directive to save myself $300. They provided the website and step by step instructions on how to obtain the medical directive. Even if I had chosen them to prepare the medical directive for me at an extra $300, my overall fee would have still been significantly lower than David Wingate’s $1950. David Wingate never told me of the option to prepare the medical directive myself. I suppose on top of overcharging, he wanted to make sure he gets as much money as possible. This lets me know that David Wingate doesn’t truly care about the needs of his clients. I understand he has to make a living, but that $1950 plus withholding information on getting the medical directive myself shows absolute greed, and zero consideration to the clients. Morrison and McGrew also emailed me a draft of what my will would look like and would only proceed on finalizing it when I was ready. I wish I had found them first.
Mr. Wingate represented my mother more than 25 years ago and she was extremely pleased as I with the legal services he provided. Fast forward to present day and with the recent passing of my husband, I was in need of estate planning and immediately thought of Mr. Wingate. Mr. Wingate is a “breath of fresh air” in his approach, kindness, simplicity, patience, respect, courtesy, and most importantly his compassion. I felt valued and respected. Mr. Wingate met with me on multiple occasions to fully explain all the options and answered my sometimes not so smart questions regarding the options available to plan for my estate. I truly appreciate Mr. Wingate’s expertise and help in navigating what I thought would be a difficult process. He made the process extremely easy. I am extremely grateful for the outstanding assistance and supported by Mr. Wingate and his staff.
David is a great attorney that has worked with me and my family. He knows what he is doing and his advice and services definitely helped my family both financially and emotionally. He made everything very easy to do from estate planning to final preparations. He is the best!
