My wife and I recently closed on an off-market home, and we couldn’t have done it without the expertise and guidance of Jerome, Jill, and their team. From day one, they were responsive, thorough, and incredibly knowledgeable about the nuances of real estate law — especially for a non-traditional transaction like ours as first time home buyers.
My father used A,T&R for a will that included a 4- year trust. The will was poorly written. It would have been fine if all the siblings were reasonable, however two siblings decided to abuse their position and try to take more than they deserve. The will offered no protection against abuse. The trustee needed to be replaced and I was stuck with the position or lose my inheritance and my other sibling lose hers as well. Due to bad language in the will I was forced to do the work with zero compensation for my time while dealing with underhanded attacks to my personal and business life as well as close to 18K in legal expenses. AI wasn’t available in 2017 when the will was written but I tried it out recently and after giving it minimal information (one short paragraph pretending I was my father in 2017) I was warned about everything that happened and given great advice on how to write a will that would have prevented all the problems I ran into. This would likely have kept our permanently fractured family together. A,T&R was the legal team my father chose and with all the mess and confusion at the time I felt it was best to stick with them. I thought it would be easier. HOWEVER after giving them many thousands over 4 years and the light at the end of the tunnel was in view…. we just needed to write one letter to wrap this trust up and get it behind me… they decide to just stop responding to me! 3 months went by while I was patiently waiting for them to get around to it. I would try to contact them again about every 2-3 weeks wondering what the hold up was. It was getting close to tax time and when I contacted the accountant asking why the pre-paid tax forms weren’t done yet I was told that he was still waiting for his questions to A,T&R to be answered! I told them A,T&R is no longer representing us. The next day I get an email from A,T&R “I understand that you have hired new legal counsel to wrap matters up.” That’s all I get after 3+ months of waiting. Now I had to go find someone else and get them up to speed just to write a trust closing letter. No idea why they did this. I was always patient and polite. I had hoped they learned a lesson from this poorly written will that created so much pain and frustration but I never once complained. There is just no excuse. More than anything my father wanted our family to stick together after he passed and trusting A,T&R was one of the biggest mistakes of his life.
Professional, efficient and responsive. Jerome and the team have been excellent to deal with every step of the way. We’ve used them twice and have suggested them to others many times. Great experience overall.
