On October 17, 2023, I was arrested for “obstruction of court orders”. The police showed up to my house looking for some guy named Craig Knoll. I promised them that I had just moved into my house on October 1st (16 days prior) and I had no idea who Craig Knoll was. The Shreveport Warrant’s Department said I needed to let them in to look, but they didn’t have a warrant so I respectfully told them no. The police officer Tyler Kolb grabbed me by my neck and threw me to the ground so that the other two officers Chasen Swan and Robert Brice could search my house anyways. Of course, I was telling the truth and there was no Craig. I got arrested for obstructing a warrant (although there was no warrant). I spent 30 hours in jail and bonded out. I had to go to the emergency room because of the assault. I hired Attorney Reed to get the body camera footage and the proof that there was no warrant. After the initial consultation (which was AMAZING! I FELT GREAT ABOUT HER!) she was horrible. Before even the first courtdate, a week after the consult, her “answering service” was telling me that she won’t be back in town to come to my court date and then she said she was sick, but she did show up – late. After the initial consultation and my first payment, she was uninterested in my case. She told me there was no body camera footage proving my innocence. Every time I would come to court, she would just offer me the state’s plea deal. I told her no because I am innocent. She told me she didn’t get any discovery, although she got a single police report that had a bunch of lies in it that she never took the time to investigate. I did my own investigation by filing complaints and gathering evidence and tried to give her the proof of my innocence, and she went OFF. She said she wanted $250 an hour to see the proof that I had ORIGINALLY HIRED HER TO GET. She told me that there was no body camera footage. I spoke to the marshal AND the internal affairs supervisor, who both said that they had the body camera footage. I tried to get her to watch it and she tried to charge me $250 an hour to watch it. Mind you, I already paid her a $1500 retainer. She wouldn’t work from the retainer. Within 9 months, she completed a miniscule 4.26 billable hours on my case. She also had only earned about 8 or 900 hundred dollars of the retainer (and this is disputable – she claims she did about 8 or 9 hundred dollars worth of work in those 4.26 billable hours). I personally think it was about 6 hundred. She came to court twice at $250 an hour, we stood together for less than 5 minutes at the front, we spoke in the hall for less than 5 minutes, and I was out of court before I even had to put another 50 cents on my parking meter. However, whether she completed $600 worth of work or $900 worth of work, she still had AT LEAST $600 left in the retainer. I also told her that I’m super confident I can prove to the DA’s office that my arrest was malicious and I’d be willing to take it to trial. I knew that the people of Shreveport would exonerate me. She told me that if I wanted to go to trial, she was going to take the remaining money in my retainer the $600-$900and I had to pay $5,000 (no payment arrangement) for her to go to trial. I took that as proof of extortion or at the least I considered her trying to make me plea under duress. An extortionist uses fear or intimidation to force the victim to comply. I fired her and hired another lawyer who not only got my body camera footage that showed I was innocent and had a run in with some evil policemen, but he also got me a dismissal and is working on my expungement. He got all of that done in 5 months and tried with everything in him to speed up the process, but the holidays slowed down the courts. Attorney Reed wasted about 9 months of my life. This is the worst lawyer ever. She tells people she is a “domestic abuse advocate”, but I have a hard time imagining her as an advocate for anything at all. I hired her because she has all of these “awards”, but obviously awards don’t necessarily mean a person is legit.
I was a witness to the lack of concern or initiative by Ms. Reed on Ms. Moreland’s Case.
Audrius Reed is very professional. Mrs Reed makes the process so easy. She is very knowledgeable of the law. She is very honest and upfront. I used her for my family custody case. We went against some well known lawyers that costs a fortune and still won our case! I would recommend Mrs Audrius Reed to anyone.
