Jefferson Davis District Atty in Jennings, Louisiana, has received mixed reviews, with some acknowledging the helpfulness of staff like Mrs. Abrahams and Mrs. Capteville, who went out of their way to assist individuals with their legal matters. While there are concerns about accessibility and communication issues, particularly regarding phone inquiries, the positive interactions highlight a willingness to help those in challenging situations. Overall, despite some frustrations, there are instances of staff providing valuable support to those navigating the legal process.
The people treat you disrespectfully like you’re a common criminal when all you want is your paperwork to prove your innocence! The ladies are down right on a power trip and play games with your questions or needs ! Refuse to let you talk to someone who can actually help and get their job done just disrespectful all together!! I can’t speak on the DA himself but the people in office don’t waste your time they won’t help and I feel on purpose! I just want my paperwork I’ve called about for over a week and a half now! So I finally talked to the DA himself and he’s actually ruder than the staff !! He dressed and acted very unprofessional while I was trying to have a grown up conversation I don’t think this office is capable of maturity! I vote let’s vote these people out !!!
Phone is never answered and mailbox is full. I am not a LA resident and I received a ticket while visiting and the only way to get it reduced, do defensive driving, etc to keep it from effecting my insurance is to speak to a DA. Which is pretty hard to do when you can’t ever speak with anyone or leave a message, assuming they’d even ever call back.
I received a ticket for going 31 miles over the speed limit while traveling through Jennings, LA. I had to urinate really bad and was an exit away from a restroom before I was pulled over. The State Trooper was understanding and even offered to let you urinate on the side of the road while he processed my ticket. But, it’s a sin to do so on the side of the road so I just waited for him to finish. When I called the County District Attorneys Office Mrs. Abrahams and Mrs. Capteville(sp) were very nice and helpful. Mrs. Capteville even went out of her way to see how I could not have to show up for court because I lived about over 6hrs away in another state. Now, I’ll just have to pay a fine, be in the county’s PTI program, and the ticket won’t be in my record.
