Hello folks, just wanted to share my experience with you all, because choosing an attorney can be a very stressful and important decision. Mr. Howes represented me on a case some several years ago, one that was dismissed in August of 21. Here’s the problem. I had a vehicle impounded by the oft civil rights violating Michigan City Police Dept in January of 21. Now since this case was dismissed, meaning for all practical purposes it never happened. My vehicle was never returned to me. It’s sat at Brinkmans in Michigan City for nearly 3 and a half years. Of course Brinkman closed his business during covid. So why would he continue to hold my vehicle hostage when he is no longer in business as a towing company? Indiana law states a person must have 24 hours access to their vehicle 60 minutes after it is towed. No one has ever contacted me regarding my vehicle, as if I was some sort of non person. Absolutely disgusting. Now the past 2 days I called Mr. Howes office trying to find out any additional al information regarding my vehicle, yet no one had the common courtesy to return my call. The police claim there’s no hold on my vehicle, but since Brinkman has been out of business, the numbers on their building have been disconnected, leaving me no way to contact a towing business who shut their doors several years ago. Now if I was a person with money or connected, my call would have been promptly returned, but since I’m not with money or connected, no response from Mr. Howes office. Be careful when choosing a lawyer, as we are not all created equal in the eyes of those who we seek help from. Help at a cost mind you. But what do we really get in return? A run around. Not what a person is looking for when choosing a lawyer. Don’t settle for so-so representation when it’s your time and, money and property on the line. Thank you.
