I do like using Google maps when I need to search for and address I’ve never been to. Prairie State Legal Services I’d recommend to anyone who needs legal help or advise. They’re very professional and they care about getting you the best results.
I don’t know why Prairie State decided to take my case when they wanted to act rude to me over the phone and not take me seriously. I told Shannon Turansick that the drug test I failed was for not having the prescribed medicine in my system (and the doctor said I can take it on a as needed basis) but she got loud with me, didn’t believe me, and then told me to stop when I was telling the TRUTH. Also, it wasn’t made clear to the judge that the conditions I have can’t be shown on MRIs. My lawyer didn’t back me up either when the medical person (an internal medicine and cardiologist that’s not an expert with my condition) assigned to my hearing said that I didn’t even need a specific surgery. There should have been something said about that. I have multiple severe pain conditions that have left me bedbound for years and I’m still being denied. If anyone listened fully in the first place maybe I could of gotten the help that I need and paid into the system my whole working life for. It’s really unfortunate the way that I’m treated after ending up like this from helping out old people in the nursing home. Shannon also asked me to make a journal to show my limitations and issues which I did and handed in to her. This was hard to do since I cant sit or stand for long to write and had to do this laying down. Then Shannon said my journal was too long to read when it really wasn’t that long, that the judge wouldnt accept it, and asked me to fill out a specific type of journal based on an outline and my pain which I did again and then she told me I could do more weeks of that journal. She didnt bring up issues I wrote in the first journal and treated me like a yo-yo. My lawyer also told me to make sure my new doctors know everything thats wrong with me. I went to new doctors and they still didn’t record everything I said and the new denial I got the judge said I refused a MRI when I didn’t and that doctor lied and said they knew how to diagnose the conditions that I was concerned to have but then when I got there they only worked with a different body part. The fact that I did what my lawyer told me to do and then the new judge is using that against me is really unfortunate. People don’t deserve to be treated like this, I was just trying to get help.
After jumping through hoops and giving VERY personal information, I find it very frustrating to be told my case will be taken and sent to the McHenry office. Just to be told, sorry, we do not have enough staff to help you. Thanks for the false hope. I have less than a week now to find assistance. If you can’t take every case, you shouldn’t lead a person on by proceeding to the next level just to be turned down.
