Melody was the GAL in my divorce case. He “investigation” was a joke. She never investigated my concerns about my ex husbands drinking, financial abuse, separation abuse, or any complaints I had. She justified every “concern” my ex had. She talked to my ex manager after I had left the business just weeks before the “final report,” and never when I was actually employed there. She used such information as fact in court when it was clearly biased hearsay from a disgruntled ex boss (Who had, while I was employed with the facility, threatened to assist in taking my children away from me.). She visited my children only at my and then my ex’s house for two hours. She lied about whom she had spoken to for “witnesses.” Her report was less than 12 pages and was completely one sided, filled with grammatical errors as well as numerous factual errors. It is so sad that these people are supposed to “do what’s best for the children” and yet they have no interest in what’s best….just the status quo of wealth and the “stability” of money versus the emotional stability children really need. DO NOT USE MS SWILLING FOR YOUR GUARDIAN AD LITEM…. and based off how she misrepresented herself as one who deals with neurodivergent youth, I would make sure she likes you before deciding on her as your divorce attorney as well.
