Just rude and provide no assistance. Not sure why they’re even in business. Been hung up on everyone and you know who you are. It’s ways around having to get an attorney. It’s basic information.
I found myself in a domestic type situation and sought counsel from Legal Aid at the recommendation of the Refuge House to remove someone from my home. The woman I had an appointment with was absolutely one of the rudest people I have ever had the displeasure of speaking with. First, my phone appointment was at 1PM. They called me at 11:30, while I was at work, for the appointment. I agreed to accommodate and then they proceeded to take another 5-10 minutes to fix a phone issue. Once we began speaking and discussing my case the woman was seething with judgement and disdain. This woman spoke to me as if I was stupid and continued to belittle me in passive aggressive ways with questions about how I ended up in the situation I’m in. She then proceeded to tell me that they could help me prepare the forms but then told me I needed to use the clerk of court website, fill them out, and file myself. I was honestly so frazzled from the complete and total unprofessional and disrespectful communication with the attorney that I didn’t even continue trying to seek legal advice about my situation, which I am currently still stuck in. If someone is in a bad situation, clearly seeing the wrong choices, someone speaking down to you when you are seeking help is just wrong and unnecessary. Its truly sad that the few resources women have in this town are handled by ANOTHER woman like that. I’m not convinced Legal Aid actually provides services, but instead provides a 30 minute session of passive aggressive disdain.
I WAS NEVER ABLE TO SPEAK TO ANYONE …. I WOULD LIKE TO SPEAK TO ANYONE THAT WOULD GIVE ME SOLID ADVICE
