My husband passed three years ago and his probate is still not settled. Our homestead is an exception from his personal debts. I continue to make the mortgage, insurance and tax payts on the home. His sons have given up any rights they have in the house legally with notarized statements to the court. Florida has clear laws on handling exempt homestead of the deceased and the widow’s rights. I am baffled why this case cannot be settled! Mr. Waddell promised me that it would be settled by end of May 2024. It is July 2024 and still not settled! He is supposed to be representing me in this matter and has totally dropped the ball! I have even consulted with other elder law attorneys and they don’t understand why it continues to drag on. I am very disappointed in the handling of my case and he continues to blame Judge Boles and his clerk for the delays. I have used Mr. Waddell in the past to set up a Qualified Medicaid Trust for a friend and was happy with his service that is why I gave them 2 stars instead of one. Marti Penland-Hearn
Mr Waddell was very knowledgeable and showed great patience with my mother who is unable to speak because of a stroke. When we did her living will and advance directives and quick claim deed for my mother’s home he came to my mother’s nursing home and with knowledge and dignity was able to take care of her needs!
