Both Roger Hurd and Bob Ross are great attorneys. We’ve used both of their legal services for over 10 years for a variety of reasons and have always been very satisfied and pleased. They are both so knowledgeable about legal changes taking place and the possible effects on our Estate.
Excellent attorney and very knowledgeable about trust and estate matters. Roger Hurd is very polite, friendly and professional. I would highly recommend him.
Mr. Hurd handled a matter nearly 20 years ago to represent his company on a probate matter in which our opposing party had defaulted on a loan prior to the death of their mother. He did so successfully because we lost half of the value of the estate (not a substantial amount). Mr. Hurd’s nephew did the repairs to the home to which the realtor referred as “substandard.” Her words, not ours, and we subsequently lost money. He used the phrase when I questioned him, “I’ll see you in court,” which is, at a minimum, laughable. We were 500 miles from Florida, didn’t have unlimited resources nor time to travel nor supervise reparations. I contacted Mr. Hurd recently due to his successful, if not impressive, representation of his client. Our resources and time are now unlimited, yet, he approached this call in the rudest manner (presumably because I mentioned the substandard work of his family member) and he refused (in all fairness, he used the word “declined”) to answer the statute of limitations issue (a very simple question)… And I was quite willing to pay. We didn’t get that far and perhaps it’s because I am, or may be, an adverse party. The information as to the substandard reparations by Mr. Hurd’s nephew was given to us at the advice of the realtor who handled the sale of the home (as we never witnessed said reparations). My call to Mr. Hurd was simply to inquire about a statute of limitations for recourse of our (NOT HIS) opposing party nor his family. I have no interest in any substandard reparations, however given his successful representation of the company to whom our opposing party owed money and subsequently successfully collected was impressive. Therefore, I was curious as to whether we may have a chance to collect from our (NOT HIS) opposing party for the remainder of damages lost. I was met with an unbelievably rude attitude from Mr. Hurd (not surprising given the, “I’ll see you in court” response years ago). Although cliche, we put our suits on the same way and I’ll take kindness over being rude any day. But if rudeness works for you (and/or Mr. Hurd), by all means, hire him. It may work to your advantage.
