I know the current DA only took office in Jan but he was a prosecutor since 08. I have had to watch the Brevard DA’s office refuse to pick up charges in very clear and provable crimes that my friends child’s father has committed against her. They gave her AND the kids a 5 year restraining order bc of how crazy he is but they keep dropping his charges and making insane deals with him after the swore they wouldn’t. He is known for being a C.I. and swinging with powerful people and blackmailing them to get out of trouble time and time again all while not even being a citizen. He is allowed to harass her and the kids and even when she provides new evidence of another instance and the PD arrest him then the DA drop charges AGAIN. He is scamming the gov in FL and other states getting double benefits for kids that he never provided for, she calls tells them, they say they will cancel it and yet he still has them when she calls back to check later. The system has got to do better in Brevard and Palm Bay.
Just called to provide information and the woman on the phone was seriously unprofessional and rude. Kept saying if your not the witness or victim I can’t send you to someone. It got to a point I had to hang up. They wonder why people do not report things. So I will be reaching out to other departments and also will be making sure that the person on the phone gets retrained because in today’s climate it is absolutely necessary to keep it professional when someone is calling to help the State. She could have simply took the information and gave it to who should get the information but no instead persisted with the unprofessional behavior.
They blow up both my emails with reminders about Online Dispute Resolution, but when the plaintiff fails to respond to my offer, they don’t send me a single e-mail about the follow-up pre-trial hearing?
