We were victims of hurricane Ian. Our property insurance was with Slide Insurance. Their initial field adjuster was terrific and agreed that the roof needed replacement and the lanai screens repaired. Slide then sent 2 other field adjusters out to refute original adjuster claims and said damage was caused by poor maintenance by us. Well, enter Mike who guided us to a successful claim allowing us to replace the roof and other needed repairs. He was professional, personable and knowledgeable about how insurance companies operate. My name is Dr. Mitchell Greenberg. I am/was a Chiropractor for 37 years. Unfortunately, I have had 31 musculoskeletal surgeries, am scheduled for as many as 10 more and have had about 10 other surgeries to my eyes, my heart, etc, as well as 3 heart attacks and on and on. So, disabled, right, no question. But wait, not so easy. Unfortunately at the advice of “experts” 35 years ago when I didn’t know any better and when I had no idea how well my career would go or how much money I might make, I purchased a number of disability insurance policies that I was assured would take care of any future possible issues should I become disabled. Well, after my 31 surgeries and 88 epidural injections, I fought as long and as hard as I could to try to keep working but finally had to admit that I was no longer Superman and had to stop practicing. No problem though, they told me that I had great disability insurance and clearly I was disabled. Well, after 3-6 attorneys looked at my policies and all told me that my policies did NOT cover me under my specific coverages. So, my wife and I gave up trying. So, horribly disabled, paying for coverage on about 6 policies for 35 years BUT TOO BAD, NO BENEFITS available for me.
