Many reviewers praise Kirk Bennett for his professionalism, empathy, and ability to navigate complex family law matters, often highlighting his thoroughness and commitment to achieving positive outcomes for families. I would never recommend Kirk Bennett for Guardian ad litem. These reviewers who claim this attorney is the best cannot be found as CT litigants on the CT Judicial case lookup. I never signed a retainer to work with Kirk Bennett and was yet forced to pay him tens of thousands even after my attorney had him sign an agreement to never work for us again by former Judge Emons. When my bills from Kirk Bennett were provided to the CT Representatives for the GAL taskforce, they deemed his bills as the most unlawful and egregious, especially noting the lack of timestamps and when compared with the other two attorneys representing my ex and myself in court: My attorney billed 1.3 hours for the status conference, my ex-attorney billed 2.1 hours, and Kirk’s GAL billed 7.5 hours ($450/hour) for the same conference. I agreed to pay Kirk off if he signed an agreement to never work for us again, but he managed to bill tens of thousands with Judge Emons, who was finally removed. Kirk also removed himself from our case after I began testifying in front of the legislature, CT Supreme Court and other cameras about his GAL representation. Be aware of the 3 Musketeers: Kirk Bennett, Kevin Collins and Dori Ellen Feltman: They will rob you blind and call it practicing law. Kirk has asked about clients’ cars, club memberships and more so he has collateral after he’s gone through their bank accounts/savings/retirement/inheritances — on to college savings ….
A phenomenal attorney, an astute observer, an extremely attentive to detail listener, and in a courtroom battlefield, Kirk is a Five Star General.
Kirk Bennett is an amazing person. He truly wants what’s best for his clients. I first met Kirk when I hired him as the review attorney for my mediated divorce. He went over my agreement with a tooth comb and added valuable language that helped me later.
