I used Attorney Arnold for help with guidance for my grandmother’s spend down and received reasonable advice. I then used them to construct my will. I felt very supported and was happy to have a law firm in the neighborhood. Then I got push back from the state on how I spent down funds for her Medicaid application and I remember Attn. Arnold saying just call if you have any issues. So I did. I was in a bind the money had been spent down and the state was delaying and threatening a penalty period. The initial conversation was empathetic and kind and I full expected a call back. A few days later I called to check in to just see if there was an estimate of when the attorney could get back to me. This was the first encounter with the response of why are you calling us. I was a little taken back and explained our circumstances again. I was told they were very busy. So the next week I called to check in again just to say hey can you give me an idea of when I could hear. I was again given the attitude of why are you calling us, why does this concern us. I was flabbergasted and explained again that multiple people had told me the response we were receiving was unprecedented and the attorney had told me to call. Then that Friday while playing with my friends kids at the playground I realized I missed a call from the attorney. I called the next Monday to say she had called and I missed the call but I’m available when she can call again. The receptionist asked if the attorney said she would call me back. I said well she called me and I missed the call. At that point again the receptionist asked why I was calling their offices and I started to explain how frustrating this is and they hung up on me. I wrote to an attorney who I last had communication with a year before to explain this and they blocked me. So I guess they don’t want anything to do with me. Also I was able to get my grandmother application approved in 3 days by calling every state representative that got me the opportunity to email the director of Medicaid.
Great experience ! Very knowledgeable attorneys with estate planning.
Sanity saving decision to hire Ms. Arnold and her solicitous staff—-I would rather try crossing a swamp at night with neither a compass or a light than attack the Medicaid application unaided.
